First of all, I would most definitely recommend Dr. Chalkin and his staff, especially his surgical assistant because they literally saved my child's finger! My 13 year old son got an infection in his left middle finger. It looked like a blood blister at first but we went to an ergent care to be sure and they told us it was a mild infection and prescribed antibiotics which we took for 2 days to no improvement. We then went to the hospital ER. They told us they could drain it at the ER but he most likely would lose permanent feeling from the procedure. We asked to talk to the hospitals orthopedic surgeon who was at home at the time and told the ER to have us "make an appointment the next week with his offices". We went home distraught and scared. The next day we went back to the original ergent care and told them his finger was getting worse by the minute. The doctor there was very worried and thank God, he made an appointment on our behalf for first thing the next morning with Dr. Chalkin. The next morning, Dr. Chalkin told us how serious things had become and that our son was days away from the infection reaching the bone which could lead to him losing his finger. I was terrified but Dr. Chalkin and his staff sprung into action and told us everything was going to be okay and they would open and drain the wound immediately. They did just that and kept our son calm and cool during the procedure. They wrapped his finger and sent us home with easy to understand instructions for wound care, pain control, and antibiotic treatment. We had our 2nd followup today and Dr. Chalkin gave us the all clear that we are out of the woods, everything is healing perfectly, and he can go back to playing and being a kid. We couldn't be more relieved or more grateful to him and his staff. I have seen several reviews complaining about the wait and other minor things and let me say this, in my opinion, for a specialist of this caliber and skill, a minor wait is the last thing I would ever be concerned with. This man knows what he is doing and so does his staff. He is from NY and and having lived in Philly, I personally recongnized and truly appreciated his straight to the heart of the issue and fast moving personality. If you have an orthopedic issue, do not go anywhere else. You need a physician like Dr. Chalkin who can efficiently and accurately diagnose and begin a course of treatment to get you back to being you! 5 out of 5 stars. Thank you!
I truly enjoy going there for therapy, everyone is so helpful and pleasant and friendly. I'm usually tired from the good therapy but it's helping me, that's what it's all about.

Dr. Brian Chalkin did surgery on both of my hands over 6 years ago...can’t say enough good things about that experience. He did great work, explained everything in as much detail as I asked for. I highly recommend him.
